A unique experience: obviously.

From overtaking: certainly

But above all, sharing!

Proposed by the association Horos in partnership with the association Objectif D+ affiliated to the French Federation of Hiking, El 1258 is the promise of a human adventure at the heart of history and territories at the crossroads between trail and ultra-hike on and around what was once the border between France and Catalonia for more than 400 years between 1258 (treaty of Corbeil) and 1659 (treaty of the Pyrenees).

Take on one of the four El 1258 sporting events:

The Maratrail is an individual timed trail run of approximately 42 km and 2,700 m elevation gain/2,800 m elevation loss, winding between the Col de Puymorens and Formiguères on a fully marked course.

The Ultra-Trail is an individual timed ultra-trail event covering approximately 226 km with 8,000 m of elevation gain and 9,900 m of elevation loss, winding between Col de Puymorens and Salses-le-Château on an unmarked course after KM 42 in Formiguères.

Participants will be provided with a GPS track and a roadbook.

The Relay is a timed trail race for teams of 5, female, male or mixed, covering approximately 226 km and 8,000 m of elevation gain/9,900 m of elevation loss, between the Col de Puymorens and Formiguères, on an unmarked course after KM42.

Participants will be provided with a GPS track and a roadbook.

The Ultra-Randonnée is a fast hiking event for teams of 2 or 3 women, men or mixed teams, covering approximately 226 km and 8,000 m of elevation gain/9,900 m of elevation loss between the Col de Puymorens and Salses-le-Château on an unmarked route after KM42 in Formiguères.

Participants will be provided with a GPS track and a roadbook.

The aim of the Ultra-Randonnée is to complete the course within the allotted time. It cannot be considered a competitive event and therefore does not give rise to an official ranking. The timing system in place allows the average speed/effort of the team to be calculated in order to position it in the ‘finisher’ system of the French Hiking Federation’s fast hiking reference system. Four performance levels are recognised: gold, silver, bronze and finisher.
